Ngorongoro, February 2026
Seven years ago, when I first saw Ngorongoro, I could not believe my eyes. “Is this what the Garden of Eden would be like?”, I wondered. And it’s hard not to come to this conclusion. Beyond the spectacular views, the Ngorongoro crater is just full of animals, all peacefully grazing and somehow just as peacefully coexisting.

A pride of lions came inside our camp in Central Serengeti. One of them came very close to me, but I felt little fear. The pride continued to hunt around camp all night, but they did not manage to catch any prey, so they moved along.
